Professional golf star Sergio Garcia set down his clubs in favor of taking to the poker table last weekend as he took part in the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
Having won a seat in the $1,100 PCA Super Satellite the evening before the event, Garcia took his place among the many entrants hoping to make an impact at this year's tournament, Poker Listings reports.
Despite starting well, he only lasted a few levels and did not make it to the finish of the opening day, but, according to the news provider, he was happy with his experience.
"Any time you try do something at a high level it's going to be tough and there are going to be some similarities," Garcia said. "There's a huge mental game in both [golf and poker] and it's important to have mental strength."
Elsewhere, Card Player recently named Taylor 'Ambiguosity' Paur as its best online player for 2010.
He amassed earnings of $1,099,435 in 2010 and a record annual points total of 11,030, making him the top player as of December 31st 2010.
