Locals asked to comment on Cincinnati casino

2010-02-15 12:46:11

Plans for a new casino in Cincinnati, Ohio are to be run past local residents for their input and insight.

The $300 million venue is due to start construction later this year and planners for the project are funding a day-long public consultation session on Saturday (February 27th), the region's local Enquirer paper reports.

Doug Richards, president of the Cincinnati chapter of the American Institute of Architects - which is co-hosting the event - said it is the organisation's hope to bring the community together on the initiative.

"We have a great project that's going to really impact the context of the area around it," he remarked, adding that the citizens' thoughts will be put towards the final design.

Scheduled for more than nine hours, the session is to be spread across four phases, with the first half of the day dedicated to infrastructure and traffic concerns.

A Penn National Gaming casino in Ohio moved one step closer to a West Side relocation last month after the state's House placed the issue on a ballot for May.
