The Empress Casino in Joilet, Illinois is scheduled to reopen on June 25th with a temporary entrance set up to lead customers to the casino.
After being ravaged by fire three months ago, the operators of the venue have decided that the establishment is almost ready to used for gaming once more.
This is despite the fact that work is still ongoing on the pavilion area and this is not expected to be finished for another year and a half.
However, punters who return to the venue will not find that it is exactly the same as before because officials at the casino have decided to use the blaze as an excuse to make some changes.
There will be a new high-limits area as well as a VIP lounge and 240-seat buffet.
A number of cosmetic changes are also being made, such as new lighting, carpets, wall finishes and plasma televisions.
The Empress Casino features 50,000 sq ft of gaming space and include more than 1,100 slot machines and a variety of table games, including live poker.
