Bethlehem casino impresses analyst

2009-05-29 16:39:17

The new Las Vegas Sands casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania has impressed an expert who met with management at the venue.

Joseph Greff, an analyst at JPMorgan, said in a client note that the Sands Casino Resort could attract clientele from midtown Manhattan as it "much easier than say travelling to Atlantic City".

Apparently, the company is planning to install an additional 2,000 slot machines in November this year, reports the Associated Press.

Mr Greff suggested the firm would be looking for approval for the additional machines at some point this summer, probably in July or August.

The Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem was constructed on the site of a former steel plant on May 22nd.

It is the eighth gaming establishment to open in Pennsylvania and at the moment there are 3,000 slot machines and four restaurants.

On the day it was opened, hundreds of punters turned up to try the new gaming facilities on offer.
