AC craps player sets new record

2009-05-26 16:49:40

A craps player in Atlantic City has set a new record for the longest winning streak in the game.

Patricia Demauro was a relative newcomer to the game but quickly hit her stride at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa, holding the dice for more than four hours.

She started playing just after 20:00 local time but did not finish until after midnight, at which point she was toasted by the gathered crowd.

A dealer from a nearby casino commented: "I joined them, and found she had been going already for more than three hours. The pit bosses were saying it might be a record, and she played for an hour after that."

The lucky gamer managed to retain her spot at the table for 154 rolls of the dice although the casino will not reveal exactly how much she won.

Stanley Fujitake from Hawaii held the record before it was broken by Ms Demauro, having stayed at the table in the California Hotel in Las Vegas for more than three hours, rolling 118 consecutive times.
