Bull Durham Casino 'defying economic trends'

The Bull Durham Casino in Colorado has experienced growth in recent months, despite the problems being faced by the sector in the current economic downturn.

Global Casinos, which owns the venue, revealed that in the three months up to the end of March, the company's revenue was up more than 70 per cent compared to the same period in 2008.

Much of this was attributed to the fact that Doc Holliday Casino, also in Colorado, was acquired during that time last year and therefore did not fully contribute to the figures.

But president of the organization Clifford Neuman explained that steps had also been taken at Bill Durham to ensure it thrives.

"An outstanding management team, strong loyalty program, superior customer service and advanced player tracking system are collectively fueling Bill Durham's solid quarter-over-quarter growth," he said.

Meanwhile, Century Casinos has attributed a decline in its revenue in the first quarter of the year to a drop in gambling in Colorado.
