Woman hits Macau's second biggest ever jackpot

2009-05-07 16:36:33

A woman who threatened to sue a casino over the money she lost while gambling has received the second biggest slot machine payout in Macau's history.

The Standard reports that the businesswoman scooped HK$5 million ($645,000) earlier this week, although the largest jackpot hit still stands at HK$10 million.

But despite the prize, the news source noted that the woman is still threatening action over the HK$53 million she has spent over the last two years.

A spokesperson for Wynn Macau - the casino in question - emphasized the fact that all its machines are approved by the Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau in Macau and stated that there is nothing wrong with them.

"Our machines are continuously monitored and maintained to ensure peak performance and the highest possible level of accuracy," she was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Melco Crown Entertainment has revealed that it will be opening the City of Dreams resort in the region next month.
