CityCenter casino complex 'to go ahead'

2009-04-30 16:55:28

An agreement has been reached that is set to see the CityCenter casino complex opened in Las Vegas later this year.

MGM Mirage and Dubai World revealed that they have settled a dispute over the joint venture, while a deal for funding has also been agreed with the project's lenders.

Welcoming the development, chairman and chief executive of MGM Mirage Jim Murren predicted that the completed CityCenter will offer a unique experience for guests.

"With all funding in place, we will focus - along with our partner - on planning for an exciting opening in December and continuing to book rooms and conventions," he said.

Director of the joint venture for Dubai World Chris O'Donnell added that the deals will ensure a "stable" financial framework, with CityCenter set to benefit the local economy as well as the partners.

MGM Mirage's existing Las Vegas resorts include the Bellagio, the Mirage and the MGM Grand.
