Iowa casino receives automated poker tables

2009-04-21 17:35:35

A pair of automated poker tables has been installed at a casino in the US state of Iowa, it has been announced.

Rhythm City, which is operated by Isle of Capri Casinos, is located in Davenport and now houses two new PokerPro tables.

Created by PokerTek, they allow operators to offer a range of games, with popular variations Texas hold 'em and Omaha included.

Chris Halligan, chief executive of PokerTek, said the company is "delighted" with the development, adding: "This is the first installation we've done with an Isle of Capri property, and we're proud to partner with such [a] great company."

A maximum of ten players can be seated at each table, with the automated aspect meaning that up to 50 per cent more hands can be played each hour.

Last week, TableMAX announced that it had reached an agreement with California's Blue Lake Casino to supply two electronic table games.
