French Lick Resort launches month-long battle of the bands

The French Lick Resort casino in Indiana has launched its $10,000 Country Band Challenge.

A press release was issued this week calling on bands to compete in the month-long challenge, which will take place between May and June.

All groups must submit either a CD, DVD or YouTube video of them performing to the resort by April 24th, with 16 finalists set to be announced five days later. Photographs must also be included.

These acts will then battle it out on the weekends between May 22nd and May 29th to whittle the field down to eight.

Between June 5th and June 6th, the number of competitors will be reduced again by four, with the semi-final and final to be held a week later.

The winners, who will be selected by a panel of judges, will receive $10,000 in cash. The early rounds will be free to casino patrons and which acts progress will be determined by audience applause.

French Lick Casino features 41 table games, more than 1,300 slot machines and ten-seat electronic poker tables.
