Expert debunks casino myths

2009-03-12 16:56:11

A new article has sought to expose some of the myths about poker, slot machines and gambling in general.

In his most recent blog for Casino City Times, Gaming Guru Frank Scoblete looks at the "many crazy ideas" people have about visiting the casino that are, in reality, simply untrue.

He notes slot players and video poker players alike are not subject to the same number of good and bad streaks and both games are about playing the percentages.

Mr Scoblete adds that Blackjack players are probably the closest to getting a 50-50 chance of going home lucky.

"In round terms, the house wins about 48 per cent of the decisions, the player wins about 44 per cent and the other eight per cent are pushes," he adds.

However, he states although this means "more losing hands than winning hands" double downs and splits can offer a better chance of the game going in their favour.

The expert has a number of educational books available including Forever Craps.
