Daniel Craig did not actually play one game of poker during filming of James Bond adventure Casino Royale, one of the movie's stars has revealed.
Mads Mikkelsen played the villainous Le Chiffre in Craig's first outing as 007 and said most of the crew got the gambling bug while cameras rolled.
In a recent interview with UK newspaper the Metro, he said there were lots of games going on, but Craig did not participate.
"He never played," said Mikkelsen. "I'm not sure he knew a spade from a diamond."
However, the actor said this was due to his early wake-up calls and long days on set rather than an unwillingness to take a seat at the table.
The character of Le Chiffre was a master of poker in the movie, as he used his mathematical skills and chess expertise to beat his opponents.
Other stars of the film included Dame Judi Dench as M and Eva Green as Bond's love interest Vesper Lynd.
