The ins and outs of Reservation Blackjack have been discussed in a recent blog for the Casino City Times.
In a post from Gaming Guru John Brokopp, it is suggested that the process - which allows players to pay up front for a guaranteed table spot - may be better suited to those who prefer lower stakes.
He notes casinos in Chicago have recently introduced the scheme and it is spreading to other venues.
"You're paying for the convenience of knowing that you'll be guaranteed a seat at a $5 blackjack game," he adds, but warns that for frequent players, this hourly rate could prove costly.
Brokopp suggests Reservation Blackjack may be better for casual participants such as couples and small groups of friends.
"It's an alternative to walking around the casino floor, searching in vain for an affordable game."
John Brokopp has written a number of advice books including Insider's Guide to Internet Gambling
