Hard Rock casino to host Mindy Trinidad tribute event

2008-12-10 11:57:38

The Poker Lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas is to host a charity tournament in memory of Mindy Trinidad on Friday December 12th, it has been announced.

Trinidad died after a long battle with leukemia back in October and as such money made from the $230 buy-in event will go towards the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in the US.

Many of poker's biggest names are supporting the fundraiser, including Jennifer Harman, Todd Brunson, Jamie Gold, Phil Hellmuth and Erick Lindgren.

The latter donated the first-place prize of a $10,000 seat at the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event, while Curtis & Co has donated a trio of expensive watches that will be given to the top three finishers.

Trinidad's best poker performance was arguably her deep run in the WSOP ladies world championship in 2007 in which she finished seventh, earning more than $28,000.
