Gambling expert expects firms to pay greater attention to customers

2008-12-04 17:02:11

Online gamblers may be able to expect better customer care from internet gaming operators due to the ongoing economic crisis.

This is the suggestion of Jake Pollard, editor of eGaming Review magazine, who predicted that there would be greater "operational diligence" within the industry during a recession.

"Operators are going to manage their player base much more carefully than they have done in terms of customer retention, frequency of activity and the amount being staked or spent," he remarked.

Barry Carter of Poker News recommended this week that those who are planning to enter a live poker tournament do so on day 1b as opposed to day 1a in order to shorten the length of time that has to be spent staying in a hotel.

The comments were made in his regular Credit Crunch Buster column, which looks at the effects of the credit crisis on the gambling industry and gives advice to punters on the best ways to save their money.
