Borgata Casino chief steps down

2008-11-26 12:16:04

Borgata Casino president Larry Mullin has announced that he is leaving his position at the Atlantic City gaming resort to take up a new role in Australia, it has reported.

Mr Mullin, who has been with Borgata since it opened in 2003, stated that declining revenues at the venue and in AC as a whole had nothing to do with his decision to leave, according to the New Jersey Courier-Post.

"I've been given a great opportunity," he remarked. "I've done a lot of great things here and at Borgata. But I'm going into a much bigger job."

The position in question is that of chief executive at four casinos owned by Tabcorp Holdings.

It will continue Mr Mullin's long association with the gambling industry, having worked for Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts prior to his move to Borgata, which is operated by MGM Mirage and Boyd Gaming.

Sydney's Star City Casino is arguably the most famous property operated by Tabcorp.
