Halloween is a 'popular time' for Vegas casinos

2008-10-31 18:56:23

Las Vegas casinos are priming themselves for thousands of partygoers this weekend, organizers have claimed

New York New York Hotel & Casino has put together a 3,000-foot haunted house attraction named Screamers, while Circus Circus is running its annual Fright Dome funhouse.

Patrick Riesgo, director of music and entertainment at the Beatles Revolution Lounge at the Mirage, told the Las Vegas Review- Journal that as Halloween falls on a Friday this year, the spooky holiday is likely to become a three-day event.

His statement was echoed by N9ne Group vice-president Michael Fuller, who said that people come from all over to take part in the city's annual festivities.

"People come here from Kansas, Michigan, Nebraska, wherever, and pretend, 'I'm going to be a high-roller'," Mr Fuller said. "Halloween embodies that whole idea."

The Screamers haunted bridge at New York New York Hotel & Casinos is for visitors over the age of 12 - unless they are accompanied by an adult - and is set to run until November 2nd.

Tickets for guests at the hotel cost $15 and are $20 for the general public.
