Gold "impressed" by casino affiliates

Online casino affiliates have to do a lot in order generate business for websites, which is the reason why they have earned the respect of poker player Jamie Gold.

The 2006 World Series of Poker main event winner was at the Casino Affiliate Programs conference in Barcelona at the end of September and wrote in his Card Player blog that it was the first time he had realized just how much these people "have to go through".

"I was truly impressed and I have a newfound respect for everything they do," he remarked.

Gold gave the keynote speech at the event and came away with several new friends, although he apparently missed one incident in which a freeroll poker tournament was disrupted when the Spanish police raided the venue where it was taking place.

"I feel sorry for everyone involved," he commented. "Those are great people doing excellent work."

Gold made no mention in his post of the European Poker Tour Barcelona competition, which took place in the city earlier in the month, with Sebastian Ruthenberg coming out on top.
