Journalist rewards weight loss with gambling

A journalist from Sportingweb has revealed that he uses casino gambling as a way of rewarding successful attempts to lose weight.

Brent Graham, who currently weighs 123 kg, wrote that he needs to shift 23 kg if he is to ever gamble in a casino again.

Referring to it as his "beloved", roulette appeared to be the game the Graham would play first should he achieve this feat, but now poker is on the agenda.

Suggesting that his new-found passion for card playing has given his weight loss goal added impetuous, he has set himself the challenge of getting below 100 kg by March 2009 in order to be able to compete in the All Africa Poker Tournament, which takes place at Piggs Peak, Swaziland.

Darren Kramer won the competition last time out, earning R1,000,000 ($115,211). The same jackpot is guaranteed for 2009, with an additional nine packages to the Aussie Millions up for grabs.
