Revenue decrease for Colorado casinos

2008-09-22 12:22:00

Colorado's casinos suffered a decrease in revenue last month, it has been reported.

The Colorado Division of Gaming announced that the gambling resorts took $68.2 million in August, a drop of $3.77 million on the corresponding period from 2007, according to the Denver Business journal.

Colorado has three casino regions, Black Hawk, Central City and Cripple Creek, with the latter holding up the best in terms of percentages.

Cripple Creek received 1.43 per cent less revenue than it did last year, while Black Hawk and Central City were down by 5.11 per cent and 13.9 per cent respectively. The average figure was 5.3 per cent.

In other US casino news, the Press of Atlantic City reports that several new bids have been made for the troubled Tropicana Casino and Resort.

The New Jersey Casino Control Commission confirmed the review process, but was unable to reveal how many bids had been made.
