A woman from Los Banos, California found herself $34,451.43 richer after a recent trip to her local Table Mountain Casino.

Barbara, a regular customer at the resort, was shocked to receive the random Mega Mountain Jackpot reward, which she was given simply for putting her Players Club Card into one of the casino's slot machines.

The gambler is just one of a number of lucky punters to have benefited from the promotion, which has paid out more than $250,000 so far.

Explaining what she finds appealing about the central Californian casino, Barbara commented: "You can play longer for your money here at Table Mountain."

In other US gaming news, the MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit, Michigan unveiled its $300 million expansion over the weekend.

Marian Ilitch, who owns the resort, claimed that the extension has helped the casino to achieve its goal of turning Detroit into a true "destination city".
