AC casinos encouraged to bring in more visitors

2008-09-12 14:42:44

Casinos and other businesses in Atlantic City (AC) have been told to use a new study to work out ways in which they can bring in more customers, the Press of Atlantic City has reported.

Jeffrey Vasser of the area's Convention & Visitors Authority commented on the recently launched 2008 Atlantic City Visitor Profile Study and said that while AC comes off favorably, companies should not be resting on their laurels.

"We want to make sure we avoid being complacent, particularly at a time when Atlantic City is facing some tough competition," he remarked.

In the survey it was found that 92 per cent of all visitors to AC would like to come back, while a further seven per cent said they would recommend the place to others.

However, despite this, AC has been struggling in recent months, with casino revenues generally in decline.

AC is the third most lucrative gaming destination in the world behind Macau and Las Vegas.
