Borgata draws praise for tournament facilities

2008-08-29 16:45:28

Atlantic City's Borgata casino has been praised by two poker players for the way it runs its poker tournaments.

Lee Watkinson and Roy Winston both complimented the venue in their Card Player blogs, with the former saying the upcoming World Poker Tour (WPT) Borgata Poker Open is "very well run".

Winston won that event last year and went even further in praising the Borgata, claiming the tournament and cash game rooms are up there with the best in the world.

Both men will likely be at the resort when the WPT competition gets underway at the end of September, although Watkinson is less certain of his attendance.

He said he has been entertaining the idea of perhaps going to London for the World Series of Poker Europe event at the Casino at the Empire instead.

"As much as I hate the trip to Atlantic City and the time change, London is exponentially worse and unbelievably expensive to boot," he remarked.
