Grochowski: Some people are scared of playing craps

2008-07-17 15:42:38

Lots of people who are interested in playing craps in casinos are too afraid to do so, according to one expert.

John Grochowski, the author behind The Casino Answer Book: How to Overcome the House Advantage When You Play Blackjack, Video Poker and Roulette, wrote in a Plainfield Sun article that a man he spoke to named Ron was typical of this demographic.

"I've read your book and one by Henry Tamburin and another by Frank Scoblete," Mr Grochowski was told by the budding craps player on the phone.

"You all make it sound so easy, but every time I go to a table, I chicken out."

Mr Grochowski convinced Ron not to be scared of playing the game and gave him some pointers on how he can give himself the best chance of winning.

Craps has gained coverage recently, with Time magazine doing a feature on presidential candidate John McCain's penchant for the casino game.
