Another attendance record has been smashed at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The resort was the site of the biggest $1,500 buy-in poker tournament in history early this month when event two of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) attracted 3,929 contestants.
And now the record for the largest seniors poker competition has been broken, with 2,218 over-50s turning up to take part in this year's WSOP $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em World Championship.
Among those taking part was poker legend Amarillo Slim Preston, a four-time WSOP bracelet winner who was enshrined in the sport's hall of fame in 1992.
Preston has yet to win a WSOP event since the poker extravaganza was moved to the Rio from Binion's Horseshoe in 2005.
His victories came in the main event in 1972, a $1,000 pot-limit hold'em tournament in 1974 and $5,000 pot-limit Omaha competitions in 1985 and 1990.
