The Rio All-Suite Resort Casino in Las Vegas appears to be doing an excellent job so far of managing the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
Last year's competition was beset with problems in the early going, but few have arisen this year and the first events have gone relatively smoothly.
Daniel Negreanu had told readers of his Full Contact Poker blog that Harrah's had done a great job of making changes to improve on 2007, but it was one of these alterations that led to the only problem of the WSOP so far.
The new tournament clocks were running fast by approximately four minutes, although they were fixed quickly before the second level of play in event one got underway.
Lance Bradley of Bluff Media, who was writing on the WSOP website, said the tournament organisers had even helped to settle players' nerves by pumping out music as they made their way to their seats.
The Rio has hosted the entire WSOP since 2006.
