McClelland continues Bellagio changes

2008-05-29 16:09:21

Tournament director Jack McClelland has continued his run of making changes to the poker room at the Bellagio casino in Las Vegas.

McClelland caused a stir at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Championship last month when he listened to the pleas of competitors and abolished the rule whereby if a player turns one card over, they must flip the other.

And now, according to Card Player, another modification that will affect the WPT has been brought in.

Chip stacks at the casino will now be increased for major tournaments, with those attending any of the Bellagio's four WPT events in the future facing a starting set three times the size of the current one.

McClelland remarked: "We decided to increase starting stacks because of the demand from players and the main goal is always to keep the players happy."

The Bellagio is considered to have one of the best poker rooms in the world, although WPT winner Roy Winston recently suggested in his Card Player blog that he prefers the one at the Borgata casino.
