Las Vegas Sands has awarded Finnish company Kone another contract for its Marina Bay Sands development in Singapore, it has been announced.

Kone revealed it will provide the Integrated Resort on Marina Bay a further 88 elevators in a deal worth €13 million ($20.4 million).

"This uniquely prestigious and demanding project highlights Kone's capability to provide a full range of solutions from luxury high-rise to heavy freight use, all powered by the Kone EcoDisc hoisting machine," remarked spokesman for the firm Pekka Kemppainen.

The deal follows a previous agreement worth €27 million. Kone claims that it is now the biggest lift and escalator company on the planet.

Marina Bay Sands continues Las Vegas Sands' commitment to developing casino resorts in the Far East and includes retail space, a conference centre and two theatres.

Sheldon Adelson's corporation was one of the major forces behind the success of Chinese destination Macau, in which it operates two gaming venues - Sands Macao and the Venetian Macao.
