Potawatomi Casino to host Blue Oyster Cult

2008-05-16 16:46:22

A Milwaukee gambling venue will play host to legendary rock band Blue Oyster Cult tonight.

The Potawatomi Bingo Casino, which has almost completed its $240 million extension, will provide the stage for the hugely influential musicians tonight, local publication the Journal-Sentinel reports.

Those looking to attend can do so by purchasing tickets between $10 and $20, although fans may wish to know that it is not the original line-up that will be playing.

Lead singer Eric Bloom and chief guitarist Buck Dharma are the only two still with the group, with Jules Radino, Richie Castellano and Rudy Sarzo filling in on drums, keyboards and bass respectively.

The newspaper said of the group: "They will always occupy a niche in Milwaukee rock'n'roll folklore for their part in the famous 'Black and Blue' mini-riot that accompanied a show with Black Sabbath at the Milwaukee Arena in 1980."

Blue Oyster Cult are perhaps known for their two classics (Don't Fear) The Reaper and Godzilla, the latter of which recently appeared as one of the songs on the Guitar Hero series of computer games.
