Rain Man makes classic casino film scene list

The blackjack card counting sequence from 1984 Oscar-winner Rain Man has named as one of the greatest film scenes ever set in a casino.

South African publication Tonight drew up a list of iconic gambling movie moments because it felt Kevin Spacey's latest vehicle 21 lacked anything which accurately captured the feelings many punters feel when they are in a casino.

In Rain Man, Tom Cruise and Dustin Hoffman leave Caesars Palace in Las Vegas with a suitcase full of money after beating the house at the popular card game.

The sequence was listed alongside scenes from Swingers, Indecent Proposal, Casino Royale, Ocean's Eleven and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Spacey's 21 is not the only film with casino scenes from the last few months that noticeably failed to make the list.

Iron Man's craps sequence did not get a mention, while poker features Deal and The Grand were also absent.
