AC hotels 'better' than those in Las Vegas

Hotels and casinos in Atlantic City keep their customers happier than their counterparts in Las Vegas, it has emerged.

Market Metrix carried out a poll of visitors to have stayed at the two major gaming destinations and found a significant difference between those who would recommend Vegas compared to the New Jersey city, reports Home & Away magazine.

Larry Mullin of the Borgata casino commented on the Hotel & Motel Management-published study, saying: "It's a coup for Atlantic City. The town should be proud."

Only 59 per cent of those to have experienced hotels and casinos in Las Vegas said they would "highly recommend" the experience to others, while 78 per cent claimed they would for Atlantic City.

The results may be surprising to some as a number of Atlantic City and Las Vegas resorts are owned by the same companies.

Trump Entertainment Resorts is the only major casino operator to be in Atlantic City but not Las Vegas, owning three resorts in New Jersey's gaming capital.
