Carmine's 'to remain at Tropicana'

2008-04-10 16:44:51

Italian restaurant Carmine's is not going to move from its position in Tropicana Casino and Resort's the Quarter any time soon, it has been reported.

Jeffrey Bank, one of the partners in the eatery, told the Press of Atlantic City that there was no intention of switching to another location, despite the Tropicana's change of ownership.

Making a reference to its opening in 2004 when the Tropicana was run by the Aztar Group, the spokesman said: "We love the Quarter and we love where we were and we hope to get back to that."

Carmine's contract states that should a new owner take over the casino, it would have the option to leave.

This event looks likely to happen in the near future, after Columbia Sussex was refused a gaming license at the end of last year.

Carmine's received a good review from Frank White's Hitting the Cutoff blog, which remarked: "Next time you are in AC and really hungry and don't want to break the bank - Carmine's is your spot."
