New boat casino 'bigger than the Rio'

2008-03-27 12:59:31

The new Horseshoe Casino, currently being built on Lake Michigan, will be significantly larger than most resorts in the Midwest - and even some in Las Vegas.

At least this is according to the Southtown Star, which reported that the destination will have a 34-table poker room, approximately 100 gaming tables and 3,200 slot machines.

"Horseshoe Casino will be a destination like no other, where world-class gambling and top-name entertainment will combine to create an unprecedented experience," remarked Rick Mazer, spokesperson for the casino.

In comparison with the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, it has 2,000 more slots and over 20 more gambling tables.

Horseshoe Casino will be completely different to the resort of the same name which has sailed on Lake Michigan since 1996, although as per state regulations regarding non-tribal casinos, it will still be situated on the water.
