Firms can learn a lot from Texas hold'em - and game strategies can be used to boost success in the business environment, two authors have argued.
In their book No Limit: The Texas Hold'em Guide to Winning in Business, Jeff Carter and Donald G Krause claim the key to a corporation's competitiveness is to accept the role of luck in life and learn how to manage it, according to the McClatchy Tribune.
"A person never has the information available when making a choice," they said, explaining the similarities between poker and life in general.
"Success in Texas hold'em and advancement in business and career both involve making effective decisions and correct choices under conditions of uncertainty."
Their teachings appear similar to that of the Global Poker Strategic Thinking Society, which recently suggested a poker game would be a good way of showing who the best candidate for the US presidency is.
