Commerce Casino announces busy schedule

The Commerce Casino in LA, which is currently hosting the LA Poker Classic championships, has announced a busy schedule for the coming months.

Between March 1st and 3rd, the casino is hosting the celebrities-only World Poker Invitational, which has a prize pool of $200,000.

Celebrities will also be playing for a $25,000 seat in the World Poker Tour (WPT) Championship and $5,000 for a charity of their choice.

"You're only invited to play in the WPT Invitational if you are a film, television or sports celebrity, or a poker player who is already entered in the WPT Championship in April," said a spokesperson for the casino.

In May, the Commerce Casino will host the Heavenly Hold'em Event, a series of tournaments that is expected to draw in more than 6,000 players over a 17-day period.

In September, Commerce Casino is hosting the California State Poker Championship, which will feature movie star and poker aficionado Ben Affleck, while the Holiday Bonus Tournament will take place in November.

The casino's current event - the LA Poker Classic - has a prize pool of $6,384,000 and the first-place finisher will take away almost $1,600,000.
