Casinos in Indiana usually do good business over the Thanksgiving weekend, it has been reported.
Local publication the Indianapolis Star says that the weekend is one of the busiest times of year for gambling locations in the state, with one casino expecting approximately 10,000 visitors on the Sunday.
The owners of that casino, Caesars Indiana, said that all of its 503 rooms are booked up from Thursday night until Sunday morning.
And the increase in visitors is not just restricted to Caesars - other casinos benefit too. A worker at the Argosy Casino said that he "couldn't believe" how many visitors it received during the weekend.
Bryce Kendrick, spokesperson for the Grand Victoria said: "The holiday weekend for us is a very good weekend, much like it's a great shopping weekend.
"It's one of busiest (weekends) during this time of year."
The minimum gambling age in Indiana is 21. According to About.com it has "several" riverboat gambling destinations.
