Wind River Casino gets good reviews - from its staff

2007-10-29 10:06:03

The Wind River Casino, owned by the Northern Arapaho Tribe from Wyoming, has been garnering excellent reviews from its own employees.

According to the Associated Press, good salaries at the casino - which has almost 300 employees - are helping to improve workers' lives.

Leandra Eagle, who has been with the two-year-old casino almost from the start, said: "I'm getting a lot more bills paid and things are getting a lot better."

Ms Eagle used to earn minimum wage as a cook in a fast food restaurant, however, she now earns three times her old amount and has a small team of staff under her.

She currently works as the casino's daytime maintenance supervisor.

A much larger casino is currently being planned by the Arapaho to be built elsewhere in Wyoming.

Traditionally, the tribe was known for being traders, however, they now appear to be getting involved with the casino business.
