2007-10-03 15:39:28

The Grand Casino Resort Tunica is to be renamed as part of a $45 million makeover, it has emerged.

From May, the establishment will be known as Harrah's Casino Tunica and will include a new 560-seat restaurant and various retail stores.

The rooms will be refurbished, while the casino will be fitted out with a new entertainment bar, poker room and high-limit salon.

Bill Wright, general manager for the Grand Casino, said that the restaurant in particular will prove to be an attractive prospect because of its association with a celebrity.

Food Network star Paula Deen has been invited to run the eatery, which will be called Paula Deen's Buffet.

"I am so excited to be able to work with Harrah's on this project and be able to bring my vision and food to the all my fans and the new Harrah's Casino in Tunica, Mississippi," said Ms Deen.

The casino is situated to the south of Memphis, Tennessee.
