Dodge City casino bid submitted

2007-09-28 14:45:12

A Kansas-based company has applied for a license to run a wild west-themed casino in Dodge City.

The Kansas Lottery Commission is being urged to consider Butler National Service's request to manage a proposed $60 million casino.

Included in the bid are plans are for a 15 gaming tables, 800 slot machines, a 100-room hotel and restaurants.

"Our proposal is a long-term commitment of economic benefit to Kansas," said a spokesperson for Butler.

"More than 1,000 new jobs will be created in and around Dodge City and more than one million new out-of-state tourists are expected to visit the [...] resort."

But because the deadline to submit a casino license to the commission is not until December 16th, Butler will have to wait nearly three months but it can press ahead.

Butler National Corporation is a provider of management services for the gaming industry.
