OJ Simpson to appear in court over casino incident

2007-09-19 14:49:39

OJ Simpson is due to appear in court after allegedly carrying out an armed robbery at a room in the Palace Station Casino last Thursday.

The incident in Las Vegas led to Simpson's arrest and he is being held without bail in Clark County Detention Center.

Las Vegas police said they seized two firearms and other evidence at a private residence at the weekend.

Yale Galanter, Simpson's legal representative, is preparing a bond motion and intends to ask for Simpson's release today (Wednesday).

"If it was anyone other than OJ Simpson, he would have been released by now," he remarked.

A pair of sports memorabilia dealers said Simpson, along with five other men, entered their room at the casino brandishing guns, before seizing various items.

Simpson has been charged with two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit burglary and burglary with a firearm.
