High-rollers who like to go further afield when gambling with their money might be interested to know that a casino resort in South Africa has been awarded a four-star grading.
Century Casino, a Tuscan-style building in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal province, was awarded the stars after South Africa's only ratings agency conducted a tour of the premises.
A spokesperson for the casino, which opened in December 2006, said that despite the traditionally weaker winter season, hotel occupancy was at 60 per cent last month.
The casino contains 250 slot machines, six gaming tables, a spa, a restaurant, a bar and conferencing facilities.
It also boasts a private room, called the Amajuba, for those gamblers who want a more exclusive gaming experience.
Century Casinos, which is a member of the Casino Association of South Africa, also has a resort on the Western Cape.
