Developer to building 'amazing' resort in Taiwan

2007-09-03 15:50:59

An Isle of Man-based development firm has said it will start building a luxury casino resort in Taiwan at the beginning of next year.

Amazing Holdings has just completed the purchase of 27 acres of land on the Penghu islands, which means work on a hotel can start in January.

The developer has now purchased over 100 pieces of land on the beachfront, collectively owned by almost 290 land owners.

Only when a gaming licence is granted will the 1,000-room hotel be converted into a casino, said executive director Ashley Hines.

"Amazing is now well positioned to take advantage of this pristine location as the first major beach front development on the islands," said a spokesperson.

The $50 million five-star resort is expected to reach completion in 2009.
