Detroit casinos see revenues rise in July

Casinos in Detroit have reported higher earnings this July than in the same month last year, new figures have shown.

Revenue climbed by an average of 2.9 per cent - equivalent to $3.2 million – bringing total revenues at Detroit's three casinos to $113.3 million.

According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board, revenues for MotorCity were up by 4.94 per cent.

At the same time, MGM Grand Detroit and Greektown saw their revenues climb by 2.19 per cent and 1.12 per cent respectively.

Looking to the future, Frank Fantini, publisher of the electronic Gaming Morning Report, said that the casinos "will have no problems filling up their rooms".

MGM Grand Detroit is planning to open a permanent resort on October 2nd, which has been built at a cost of $800 million.
