Site gives tips on blackjack

2007-07-26 15:58:57

Casino-pokernews.com has provided a range of advice for those looking to win at blackjack.

Detailing the differences between "hard" hands and "soft" hands, the website states it wants to help players "refine [their] decision making abilities" and help improve basic strategy knowledge.

Casino-pokernews.com explains that playing a soft hand, which is when the hand includes an ace, offers an advantage because the card can have a value of either 11 or one.

"This is a great position to be in," the site explains, adding that players "can really take advantage of with some aggressive strategy and betting."

Hard hands - which are those that do not include an ace - can be less valuable as all the cards have to be taken at their face value. This means the player is presented with less flexibility.

As such, it advises that players should "be careful" as, if their hand is already relatively high, there is "always a chance to bust your hard if you hit another card".

In other poker news today, the first official poker game between computers and humans found that humans just have the edge.

The game, organised by the Association for the Advancement Artificial Intelligence, resulted in a two-to-one win to humanity's entrants - Ali Eslami and Phil "The Unabomber" Laak.
