Industry accolade for GSA

A new protocol from the Gaming Standards Association (GSA) has been awarded an innovation accolade, it has emerged.

GSA's game-to-system (G2S) communication protocol was named among the 20 most innovative products by industry publication Casino Journal Magazine.

The developer announced the decision at the recent Gaming Technology Summit held in Las Vegas.

Peter DeRaedt, president of the GSA, said: "The global industry - operators and manufacturers - came together to create the G2S protocol and the industry's global publications are recognizing the tremendous effort."

"G2S will enable the next generation of gaming and unleash innovation for the industry as never seen before," he predicted.

The protocol permits machines - such as slots - on the casino's gaming floor to communicate securely with the central server.

In this way, the association suggests that auditing machines may be done remotely at high speed.

Previous standards including GSA's Bob (Best of Breed) and International Game Technology's SuperSAS have been incorporated into the new product.
