Casino heist movie stars George Clooney and Matt Damon met with reporters this week to raise attention about the genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan.
Speaking at the Chicago movie premiere of new film Ocean's 13, the stars railed against the conflict in Sudan and used the event to call attention to Not On Our Watch.
This is an organization started by Clooney and others who worked on the casino movie and is designed to help the International Rescue Committee (IRC) raise money for the victims of the atrocities.
Commenting on the event, IRC spokeswoman Melissa Winkler said the actors "have a unique ability to raise the alarm to turn attention to places that need attention because of their celebrity and their reach".
The lighthearted caper film opens on Friday and is the third in a series about a band of high-tech robbers trying to pull off yet another casino heist.
Last month, it was revealed that this year's World Series of Poker tournament will feature an event aimed at raising awareness of the crisis in Darfur.
Players who have announced their intentions to play in the Ante Up For Africa event, which will take place on July 5th, include Clooney and Damon, as well as Brad Pitt, James Woods and Ben Affleck.
