New launch date set for Meadows casino

Meadows Racetrack & Casino officials have released the new launch date of the new Pennsylvanian gambling haven after a security delay, it has emerged.

The postponement of test nights and the grand opening were attributed to "final enhancements" that need to be made to casino's security system.

Test runs will now take place on Friday and Sunday, while the grand opening is due to take place on Monday at 08:30 local time.

"Our construction team has done a tremendous job of building a first-class casino from the ground up in only six short months," said Bill Paulos, principal of the venue's owner Cannery Casino Resorts.

"The progress has been unbelievable, so delaying our opening a few days to make sure everything is ready [was] the right thing to do."

He went on to say that more than 10,000 people have already signed up to join the "world-class, fully integrated gaming experience".

Proceeds from the test dates will go to the Greater Washington County Food Bank and the Washington Hospital.
