Joe Hachem has joined the World Poker Association (WPA) board of directors and has promised to promote "ethics and integrity", it has been revealed.
Hachem, winner of the Aussie Millions in 2006 and the World Series of Poker [WSOP] in 2005, will serve as an officer and the public face of the organisation.
A recruitment drive is among the initiatives set to be launched by the Aussie pro.
"I'm both pleased and honored to be chosen to serve on the World Poker Association board of directors. I strongly support the WPA's efforts to promote ethics and integrity in poker, and am happy to take a leadership role with them," he commented.
"If you want autographs; if you want to talk poker with me and other top-notch professionals, come visit us at the World Poker Association booth [at the 2007 WSOP]. It will give you a chance to join the only organization with a clear priority of promoting professionalism in poker, and pick up some poker tips too," he added.
