The Hilton casino in Atlantic City is set to undergo a new transformation to help boost the region's gambling appeal.
A total of $1 billion will be spend on the current Atlantic City Hilton Casino to expand it into a mega resort with a whole host of attractions and facilities, reports The Press.
The plans include a 1,000 room new hotel tower as well as the increasing of the current casino floor from 60,000 to 120,000 square feet. In addition, there will be new retail shops, eating establishments and a 3,500 seat entertainment area, while outside a 3,000 space garage will help to accommodate the extra visitors.
"I think it's a gem of a property that would benefit from an expansion more than any other casino," said Anthony Rodio, regional president of the Hilton.
No completion or starting date has been provided for the expansion and Hilton has confirmed the developments remain at the planning stage.
The Atlantic City Hilton was last expanded ten years ago with the additional of 300 extra rooms but is hoped that this latest redevelopment will prove to be even more lucrative.
