A thousand people were partying last night to celebrate the opening of a new casino in San Diego county last night.
The event was hosted by the Santa Ysabel tribe, who own and run the new facility.
The celebration was a mixture of elation at the tribe's tenth casino and eager anticipation of the complex's yet-to-be-granted alcohol license.
"This is your casino" was the message shouted to the crowd by Brandie Taylor, the Santa Ysabel tribe's vice chairwoman, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Ms Taylor told the assembled partygoers that the casino is the "future" of the tribe.
Robin Van Dyke, district director for Alcoholic Beverage Control, told the North County (NC) Times that an alcohol license would soon be on its way.
"The license was approved, but it's being held, and we are waiting to hear from the county that the tribe has done what it needs to do before it is released", Mr Van Dyke said.
The new casino doesn't just provided potential dividends for gamers, but also creates welcome jobs for the Santa Ysabel tribe.
The NC Times reported three years ago that unemployment in the tribe stands at around 80 per cent.
